First impression and fit

Nora Vasconcellos has been with adidas for quite a while now. After colorways for the adidas Matchcourt & Gazelle ADV, the step for an own signature model was not that far away.

When I held the adidas Nora in my hand for the first time, I immediately noticed how light the shoe is. The workmanship appears to be very solid and durable. The green and white colorway and the green outsole definitely give off vintage vibes.

In terms of fit, the Nora from adidas is fairly tight, but gives way a bit after a few sessions and adapts well to the feet. If you prefer it a bit more relaxed, I would recommend one size larger than normal. To be fair, I have to mention at this point that I have quite wide feet. Narrower feet should have no problems with the Nora in the usual size.

Skate shoes from adidas are usually quite tight fitting. For skating this is perfect, but for hanging out and going for a walk I would resort to other shoes.

Features and construction

The adidas Skateboarding Nora is a low-cut skate shoe, is made of a blend of suede and synthetic material and has a vulcanized cup sole. The tongue and hem are padded and the toe area is double stitched. The insole is removable and adapts well to the shape of the foot after a few sessions.

The first sessions in the Nora by adidas Skateboarding

I usually skate shoes with vulcanized soles. Thus, the adidas Nora was a bit of a challenge for me and admittedly I was worried that my boardfeel would suffer.

The first session in the Nora from adidas was perhaps still something to get used to. The shoe seemed to be quite stiff and I first had to “find myself on the board”. After a few sessions in the park and in the streets, the fit became more and more comfortable and the boardfeel was no longer different from vulcanized shoes.

Durability and performance

I skated the shoe for about 20-30 hours now. The sole is still very grippy. In terms of fit, the shoe has still given in a little, but still sits nice and narrow on the foot.

The suede part in the front of the shoe has been affected the most so far. In general, the shoe makes a very solid impression and will definitely hold up for quite a while.

The insole is comfortable and cushions impacts well. The stability of the Nora ist something that really needs to be highlighted. Although the shoe has loosened up a bit over time and became wider, I felt very safe all the time.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a reliable skate shoe with a classic look, then you will definitely enjoy the adidas Skateboarding Nora. Especially in terms of durability and stability, the Nora has convinced me all along. Despite its fairly tight fit, I would skate the Nora from adidas again at any time.

Pros

  • durability
  • stability
  • cushioning

Cons

  • none
